Business Plans

Business Plans identify the organizational requirements for success. The depth of a Business Plan will depend on factors such as whether it is the first Business Plan and/or the amount of change since the last plan and what results it achieved. To add value, a Business Plan must provide a clear analysis of current performance and the organization’s operating environment, address the decisions needed for success and set out an integrated plan for the business to succeed.

Typically a Business Plan will consider:

  1. The vision to be achieved by the Business Plan
  2. Where capacity improvement is needed to realize the vision in:
    1. Financial performance
    2. Product requirements
    3. Relationships
    4. Marketing and communication
    5. Management team
    6. Client need
    7. Operational abilities
    8. Future service configuration
  3. An integrated plan arising from the analysis
  4. Performance goals and measurements
  5. A calendar of implementation, responsibility and required resources
  6. Monitoring and corrective action
