Level Three - Board Leadership |
|
Boards that provide leadership add greater value to their organization. Leadership boards recognise that success from the boardroom requires that they empower management to succeed, whilst remaining in control. Leadership boards create time to concentrate on the big picture and communicate their agreed direction to inspire those who work for the organization. Through their leadership they get the best performance from their CEO, who feels engaged with, supported by and accountable to an informed group of directors who understand the organization’s business model and strategic circumstances. The board’s situational leadership ensures the CEO keeps the organization ahead of its challenges and able to pursue opportunities. Typically program content would include: - What distinguishes board leadership from other forms of leadership
- What enhances and weakens board leadership
- How to create an organization able to achieve its purpose and potential
- Completion of a situational analysis to determine the board's priorities
- Mapping of the organization’s lifecycle, current position and future potential
- The leadership styles and options available to the board
